As I posted on April 23rd, the nesting Mourning Doves are back this year but on our neighbour's window sill, not ours. Well, the first pair of chicks have fledged and today I found them hanging out in our tree. No sign of the adults starting on brood #2 yet.
Still on the topic of birds, I saw this wind-blown Red-Tailed Hawk near the Zorra Township office today.
I drove past it, did a quick swing around and pulled up on the shoulder of the road about 100ft. south of it's location and took a couple of quick shots before it took off.
Had a moment to shoot this horse and barn today as well.
That hawk reminds me, I must drive out by the guelph lake soon and see if the ospreys are using the nest platforms.
ReplyDeleteI loved all of these shots. Thank you so much.

ReplyDeleteNow why did the doves move I wonder? Hmmm maybe they are afraid of Mr. Gray? The picture of the babes is lovely!
I love red tail hawks- they are SO beautiful- sightings where I live are rare.
The horse and barn photo is gorgeous- worthy of your next calendar!
Sending hugs-
Vicki
I was looking forward to the doves this year. Perhaps Gray gave them an eviction notice. Hope they return.
