The south shore of the Bay of Islands

On Friday, August 16th, cousin Deborah and I took one of our favorite short-ish road trips out the south shore of the Bay of Islands through Mt. Moriah, Frenchman's Cove, York Harbour and on out to Little Harbour, Bottle Cove and Lark Harbour.

We stopped for a walk into Copper Mine Falls,

and found this interesting fungus by the side of the trail.

  1. That first shot is a truly Maritime post card picture.

    1. It was good to see some of the traditional wooden Lobster traps on the wharf - so many boats use the newer roundish metal and net ones.

  2. Are they lobster pots?
Gorgeous scenes - I could almost smell the freshness of the air, and feel the breeze...

    1. Yes it is Mersad. And I'm proud to call it home, it's where I was born and I lived there until I was in my mid-thirties. Still having lots of family there, I go home almost every year.
