Repetition - Friday My Town Shoot Out

The theme for this week's shoot out is "repetition" and I found it only a few minutes walk from our house.  We live near the Via Rail train station here in Woodstock and these 3 box cars are permanently parked across the tracks from the station.  The murals were painted several years ago by a high school art class.

A wide shot of the repetition
The first car depicts the early days of rail travel in Oxford county.
The second depicts a current-day Via Rail passenger rail car
And the third is an imagining of travel of the future

I really enjoy train travel and I'm looking forward to a trip to Toronto next week with The Writer to see the Frida and Diego exhibit at the AGO.

  3. Great take on the topic, Elaine. And a unique way to brighten the landscape at the station. I love trains, too, the repetitive noise is part of their appeal.

  6. What a great project for those young artists and a nifty way to save those old rail cars from going to rust.
