The theme for this week's Shoot Out is symmetry : an exact matching of form and arrangement of parts on opposite sides of a boundary.
I didn't get a chance to look in my town this week as I was away most of it but I did find a couple of examples in Toronto architecture and captured them with the Camera+ app on my iPod Touch.
For more examples of symmetry, please visit our Shoot Out Mr. Linky site.
I can't get over the quality of photography with those Ipods. Very nice, Elaine. More and more people are using them for pictures and sharing like this, even editing with them.
ReplyDeleteThe buildings are so large, aren't they?!
Love that old architecture. - Margy
ReplyDeleteHi Heather - yeah, they build 'em big in Toronto. I love visiting cities but wouldn't want to live in one. Our little city tops out around 36,000 whereas the 2006 census listed the greater Toronto area at roughly 5.5 million.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, iPod camera apps are great fun!
Margy, the variety of architecture in downtown Toronto is great and I'm discovering more of it each time I visit.
ReplyDeleteGreat symmetry in those big impressive buildings. Anything over two stories is big to me. Amazing that you can get shots like that on an iPod.
ReplyDeleteBuildings are very symmetrical and it never dawned on me to go take a picture of one. Smarty.
ReplyDeleteImpressive buildings! Just like my urban country, too many high rise building due to lack of land.
ReplyDeletelovely pic..... There is a strange nostalgia attached to old buildings.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful architecture perfect for symmetry and for eye candy. Great job.

Absolutely lovely buildings. I can't remember the last time I was in Toronto. However, since I live in New York City, I tend to enjoy travels to more remote and rural places.
ReplyDeleteI just checked our 2010 census figures. New York City’s population is 8,175,133.
Cool shots. How nice that you were thing of My Town Shoot Out even when you were away. :)
ReplyDeletebuildings are symmetry. I was looking into my photos and found them.
ReplyDeleteIs it getting cold yet?
Wonderful examples of symmetry in architecture! Great shots with the ipod...amazing how far they have come with the camera.
ReplyDeletenice architecture on the buildings. always a good choice for symmetry.
ReplyDelete@Ann - yes, it's sure is getting cold! We've had a few snow flurries but none of it has stayed yet.
