Friday My Town Shoot Out - Remembrance

ChefE chose this week's theme, remembrance, and I decided to take the opportunity to shine a light on Canadian war veterans.

Veterans should be held dear in our hearts at all times but, here in Canada, we take extra time to pause on Remembrance Day, November 11th (Veteran's Day in the US). Each year wreaths are laid at the War Memorial here in Woodstock. Originally constructed to remember local men lost in the Great War (WWI), it also includes those who died in WWII and the Korean conflict.

Please take the time to visit other FSO participants here.

  1. Great post, and I love the photos, which if I had room and the time there is this great seat in Princeton I should go and take a photo of, a memorial for lost soldiers...

  2. We have Anzac day here.

When I read about the boys back then who were so enthused about fighting for their country and other people's country that they forged their papers to report they are old enough, I cry for their mums.
