Well, no sign of nest building yet but the Mourning Doves have been back and forth to the window sill every day since Saturday. When I headed downstairs at 7am this morning this is what I saw in the transom window above our front door. I apologize for the quality, it was a hasty shot as Gray was yowling at my feet to be fed.
After he'd nibbled his morning food Gray retired to his post on his "bird watching" chair.
You will be safe from those dovies! Not to worry!
ReplyDeleteI've noticed the sparrows with grasses and twigs in their beaks here this week. Let the games begin!
I guess they are both used to each other. I used to get a kick when our old cat would see a bird outside the window and chatter her teeth. In those days we had indoor/outdoor cats, so she knew what it was. After learning our lesson the hard way (local coyotes munched a few) we started having indoor only kitties. Then they were so interested in critters outdoors. - Margy
ReplyDeleteI have seen some birds gathering nesting material. Spring is really almost here (I think)!
