Today I decided to walk a different part of the Millenium Trail system. This section is known locally as the Standard Tube Trail as it passes behind a factory that was once named Standard Tube. It was a wonderful, very wintery morning for a walk.
This lone Canada Goose was hanging out with a dozen or so ducks and was quite content.
And I added another bird to my 2010 list, a Hairy Woodpecker.
Love the 2nd and 3rd shots in this post: The interesting tree branches and the beautiful winter scene with the water.
ReplyDeleteI am always quieted by your photos. So beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIncredible photo of that twig in the water, Elaine!
ReplyDeleteA beautifully captured walk. I like the red berries. When I was out looking for snow photos for the newspaper I eye-balled a fence piled high with snow; behind the fence a delegate branch of red berries hung low. My husband was driving me and by the time I yelled stop (and by the time he stopped)I saw a kid jumping in the snow that had fallen on his trampoline. Could not miss that moment as it made for a great feature. Being that it was difficult to turn around in all the snow we continued on. But I did not forget the pretty branch of berries.
ReplyDeleteYours are beautiful, as are the other photos. You should do a nature photo-book. Or a 2011 calendar.
