Friday Shoot Out - angels

My favorite angels are the ones present among us, and I've been blessed with many in my life. My friend Maureen, who spreads kindness and love everywhere she goes. My friend Alison, who at 87 still bakes for countless community bakesales. My husband Geoff, who humours my every whim.

But for this Christmas Day FSO post on Angels, as chosen by Kim Jozwiak of Life is Now, I've chosen two photos of the classical types of angels we see around us.

This statue stands at the side of a Roman Catholic Church near Buffalo and Buffalo is sort of a home away from home for us - we go there often. I think the statue is beautiful but find it odd that she seems to be planning to play the trumpet through her forehead instead of her mouth.....

And this angel stained glass window adorns a church I used to attend.


My wish for you this Christmas is that you have angels surrounding you where ever you are and that you are receive the blessings of the Christ Child.

    Perhaps the angel holds the trumpet to her forehead because that kind of celestial sound comes straight from the mind.

    Lovely angels! The statue looks as though she is checking her instrument to see if it is nice and straight; I imagine they have to do that once in awhile.

    Both beautiful photos Elaine. Linda's sister has recently retired to Ft. Erie and is almost a resident in Buffalo. Does all her shopping there.
