Here are a few of my favorite winter weather photos - the odds of us having snow at Christmas are usually pretty good. I took this photo Christmas Day morning last year as we were driving home from visiting my mother-in-law at the nursing home.

This barn is a favorite of mine regardless of the season. |
|
This was the view from my office window first thing this morning - we had a very blustery day. |
|
And one of the coolest (pardon the pun) things about blustery weather is that the birds flock (oops, pardon pun #2) to our feeders. It's like the shoppers who crowd the grocery stores when we have bad weather - it's not going to last forever people! |
Those photos make me want to sing, "Over the river and through the woods..." They just capture the season.
ReplyDeleteYour snow photos really do look like Christmas. Your barn is one of the best barns I've ever seen too. When I first saw the photo, I thought to myself, "Oh goody, she posted my favorite barn."
ReplyDeletethat last shot is perfect! the bird is looking straight on. cute shot!!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you also and have a great weekend!!
Oh I love this look at the snow in your area. Keep feeding those birds; I know they're grateful for it!
ReplyDeleteYou have some really beautiful shots there. Stay warm and safe.
ReplyDeleteBrrr....it looks so freezing to me! I think I just stay at home and enjoy my sunshine while looking at photos of snow from around the world. lol
ReplyDeleteThat barn again! Love that barn. You could assemble its biography.
ReplyDeletethe red barn in the snow is the best. when we pick a fav though it is all about the memories the photo evokes. this looks so like our road outside of Morence Mi. when we lived on a farm road..........
ReplyDeleteA great reminder of what I loved (and hated) in Massachusetts. Brrr.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind comments everyone. The barn in photo 2 is located on Highway 2 just east of London, Ontario. It's another one of those that I photograph almost everytime we drive past it. The name of the farm is Sunny Acres. I'll be stopping by to visit your posts tonight and over the weekend. But for now, the 9-5 work world calls.....
ReplyDeleteI'm getting to recognize that barn too!
ReplyDeleteAs usual, just exceptional photographs Elaine! Although after looking at them I need to go get a cup of hot chocolate.

I don't know how you did it, but you managed to make snowy weather look downright inviting!
ReplyDeleteAll I need is a sleigh and I am ready. Oh, and I will need a heated blanket, too. Beautiful photos, but this Georgia gal doesn't think she could survive any further up north.
ReplyDeleteLove the birds. That one is sure looking at you!
Love the bird shot. Merry Christmas to you too!
ReplyDeleteThat barn is gathering quite a following, isn't it? It looks great in every photo you post of it, but this one is one of my favourites. Also love the shot from your office!
