And then there are other things I photograph that I understand why they are favorites. The dark green rectangle on this barn used to be covered by a sign which read something like "C. Riddell and Daughters". You don't see signs that read "and daughters" too often.

And finally my last item is probably my favorite Christmas decoration. It is a Hallmark ornament from their 1982 collection and it reminds me of my brother who wore a robin egg blue velvet shorts overall on his first birthday in 1958. My brother, like the angel, has red hair. It touches my heart every year when I hang it on the tree.

ReplyDeleteI love the winter shot of the barn - so pretty. Your cat cracks me up! If there were birds that close to our windows, my dumb cat would end up flinging himself into the windows all day (much like he does now when the rabbits get too close) :)

ReplyDeleteHi Elaine - I enjoyed the contrast in all your photos - the barn at different seasons, the dove is just awesome and, being a cat lover, just adore Gray - my two have sniffed around the Christmas decorations decided they weren't that interesting and have gone back to sleep!!! take care, Judyx
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words everyone. Gray still looks up at the "dove window" at least a couple of times a day and we tell him "they won't be back until March, if at all" but his hope springs eternal. They've nested on the ledge between our front door and a transom window directly above the door the past two years. This past summer they raised 4 broods of 2 chicks for a total of 8 little ones from March to late September. They also had two failed nests. As for Gray, he's a darling cat who acts and thinks like a dog most of the time and he's a VERY handsome boy. Have a great week everyone!
ReplyDeleteI like to spring and winter comparison shots with the barn. They both look like great seasons to visit. We are still waiting for our first snow, but once it's here we'll probably wish it went away. So fickle are we out here on the coast. - Margy
