Friday My Town Shoot Out - Skylines
This week's Shoot Out theme, Skylines, was chosen by Kate of Kansas because: "One of my favorite things to see when I go to a new city is the look of their skyline - and for me, skylines can be the look of a small-town Main Street or the giant buildings of a huge city's downtown or a field full of corn. "

And here's an agricultural skyline just west of Woodstock. We have the bes of both worlds.

The farm is reminiscent of a John Constable painting.
ReplyDeleteThe soft brown hues are lovely and warm. Woodstock downtown is so small town Ontario. Beautiful post of both worlds, Elaine.
Best Wishes, Barry and Linda
Oh wonderful contrast!! I love them both..but the farm calls my heart!! Wonderful, Sarah
ReplyDeleteYou do have the best of both worlds...I love the agricultural shot. And of course my eye was drawn right to the DQ sign in the first shot. That is my weakness!
ReplyDeleteLove that farm skyline!
ReplyDeleteI am very partial to any photo that has a farm or a barn in it, but I really like your city shot a lot. I can't choose which one I like best. I like them both equally for different reasons. These are terrific.
ReplyDeleteHard to imagine such contrast in one town! A seven eleven AND wide open spaces!
ReplyDeletethe country landscape is very very good. I would not hesitate to have this framed on my wall. this Canadian town could be swept up and blunked back down in any mid-west town in the USA- all the signs are there, dairy queen to 7-11 food stores.... amazing.
ReplyDeleteThat farmland scene would make a wonderful painting! It has an "other world" quality to it somehow. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI know that you're not so far from me, Elaine (I'm just a hop over the border, here in VT) but your Main Street photo could be our Main Street in Burlington. So similar!
ReplyDeleteAnd the countryside...I love living in the Northeast :)
beautiful! love the farm shot. I am a country gal at heart after all!! have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteAt first glance, I thought the second shot was an oil painting. Great shots.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous ....I think we would both enjoy each other's places.
ReplyDeleteAND thanks for the hugs.
The country shot is very special.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the agricultural shot. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGosh I feel like I am in the car with you in the first pic...and the second I agree is like a painting!
ReplyDeleteLove them both!
Wow! I love both photos but that last one is gorgeous and fit for a photo contest.
