Geoff and I are big fans of the work done at Hawk Creek Wildlife Centre, Inc. in East Aurora, New York. Among the many birds and animals cared for at the facility is this European Barn Owl.
The Centre is open to the public for a limited number of events which are well worth attending.

Hey Cousin 2, thanks for referencing my blog in your blog. I love that Owl. He's beautiful and perhaps a bit arrogant looking. I thought your family name might have been your O of choice.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely creature! Very good "O."
ReplyDeleteThe owl has such a regal face and great coloring. Perfect choice for the letter O.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful barn owl! What a good O.
ReplyDeleteA most incredible face. Remarkable!
ReplyDeleteOh, such a beautiful face! The Centre's events look really wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very beautiful owl! Great "O" word.
ReplyDeleteI love owls. I love all creatures.
ReplyDeleteI've seen owls on show like this and they are very tactile.
ReplyDeleteWildlife Centers can be such interesting places! This an imposing picture of this Barn Owl with his wise face.
ReplyDeleteBarn owls are gorgeous, aren't they? They're threatened now because of the changes in farming methods. There are fewer suitable nest sites, and farmers deal with rodents with poisons or traps, so their food source is scarcer too.
ReplyDeleteBut we still hear them sometimes, on summer evenings. They have a harsh and scary cry for such a beautiful, gentle-looking bird. They sound as if someone is trying to beat a cat. LOL!
