Sunday Photo Shoot

And God said to Noah, "Noah, how fast can you tread water?" I remember this from an old Bill Cosby routine. Today I wondered if it was going to apply to us. We were driving back to Woodstock from an overnight trip to Buffalo and encountered flash flooding on the Red Hill Parkway just outside of Hamilton. Shortly after I took this photo we decided to detour off the route and heard on the radio minutes later that the route we'd been on was closed due to the flooding.

From July 2009

Roughly an hour earlier we'd been sitting in a Canada Custom's line-up on the Rainbow Bridge which crosses between Niagara Falls, New York, USA and Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. In fact for a minute or two we were stopped right at the International Boundary Line.

It was a successful trip (I bought 3 pairs of Rockport shoes for $58.11!) but it was good to arrive home safe and sound - and dry.

  1. Yikes! I'm glad you detoured! I wonder if any of thos vehicles stalled out from water in the engine!

  2. I love the way you introduce your post, lol! That is a lot of water, but then, we have had a lot of rain today. I know that exact location in Hamilton. Wow!

  4. We could use a bit of rain out here on the west coast about now, but not that much at once. We are heading east for our first vacation since discovering Powell River in 2000. Plan to get all the way to Newfoundland, but will be cheating by flying as far as Montreal. - Margy
