Tiny visitor

It might seem odd to anyone who lives in southewestern Ontario but, until today, I'd only had one fleeting glimpse of a Hummingbird.  This morning I visited a friend who lives on an old family farm in Eastwood and while we enjoying a cup of tea this visitor showed up.  I was pretty darned excited.  Another bird to check off my Life List!

This is a Ruby-throated Hummingbird - either an adult female or a juvenile as the young of both sexes look like the adult female.

  2. We have several hummingbirds that frequent the cabin. They think our solar Christmas lights on the front porch are flowers and buzz up to them all the time. Because we aren't home all the time, we don't have a feeder out, so getting a pictures isn't possible. I'm just not fast enough. - Margy
