Driving home.....today
Well, our annual conference wrapped up today and, while Chloe, Jayne and I were driving home, I took a couple more drive-by shots. Autumn light, bar none, is THE best.
Have a great weekend everyone.

My first Amazon book review
I recently won a copy of a Pride and Prejudice sequel, Darcy and Fitzwilliam: a tale of a gentleman and an officer, by Karen Wasylowski . I've just finished it and LOVED it - so much in fact that I've posted my first review on Amazon.com and Amazon.ca. You can find it HERE.
ABC Wednesday - "O"
When I was in Toronto last week I saw this orator on the south west corner of Dundas and Yonge. Dictionary.com says:
And I'm doing a little happy dance, apparently this is my 800th blog post!

Today on the trail
As you were all busy today, and couldn't come for a walk with me, I thought I'd share a bit of it with you.
First of all, we've had a LOT of rain since the middle of last week so it's a tad damp in spots.
These two children were braver than me - I wasn't wearing waterproof foot wear and I hate getting my feet wet.
Other than that little obstacle, it was lovely on the trail today.
Most of the remaining leaves are shades of yellow, but there are a few red and orange to be found.
It was very peaceful......
.......with the exception of the seemingly dozens of Robins - it must have been "migration Sunday" for them - they were everywhere!

Sunday in Stratford
Last week the Stratford Festival ran a ticket sale via a promotion code on facebook - we lucked into 2 seats for Camelot at $13 a piece - and they were A+ rated tickets! The show was wonderful from start - and what a start with a live hawk swooping over the audience to the stage! - to finish. Of course I couldn't take photos in the theatre but I did take a few with my iPod before and after the show.
The garden in front of the Festival Theatre is winding down for the winter.
On the way home we pulled over for a moment so I could take this shot of the dramatic fall sky.

A day out
The last time I did a post entitled "A day out", my friend Lorraine Stevens and I had been to Piecemakers 2010 in St. Mary's, Ontario.
Today our destination was the 4th annual "In the Spirit" Artisan Show and Sale in Avonbank which is southwest of St. Mary's and Stratford. What a find! The venue in an old Avonbank church was only surpassed by the amazing array of items for sale. Everything from jewelry to photography, paintings, purses and totes and on and on. Just delightful. Oh, and there was hot apple cider.
I bought Christmas presents so I can't post about those here - but they're fabulous. Just sayin'...
Aren't these sheep, by Wendy Orr, lovely? Plus, there was the peace and calm of the original purpose of the building.
A shout-out to Ev Scott, who was one of the organizers and participants. To visit Ev's website, click here. When you click on her link marked "Newfoundland", you'll understand why I wanted to meet her.

Vicki and Vera Bradley - the story of a fashion love affair
My blogging friend Vicki of 2 Bags Full is many things - an amazing blogger, photographer AND neo-natal nurse yet she also finds time to be a devotee of Vera Bradley purses (and many other accessories). Vicki loves Vera bags soooo much that she's prone to giving one away every now and then. This is one of the nows.
Please visit this post and you'll find out how to enter Vicki's latest contest(s). I can guarantee you'll love Vicki's blog - her photos and travel adventures are wonderful - so click here for more posts.

Skywatch Friday - Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia
This photo of a dreary, rainy sky over Cape Breton Island on September 6th doesn't tell the story of the fun we were having and how much we were enjoying the scenery, regardless of the rain.

Friday My Town Shoot Out - things I'm thankful for
We are coming up to Columbus Day in the United States and Thanksgiving Day in Canada on October 10. So, this week, Shoot Out participants have been asked to show something we've discovered in out town or something we're are thankful for in our town.
For the past 6+ years I've been able to look out of my office window and see this well-kept home. It's always seasonally and tastefully decorated and I'm thankful for the lovely view. Sometime in the spring of next year our office will be moving to a brand new building on the other side of the city and I'll no longer be able to look out to see this perfect bungalow. For now, I'm still thankful for the view. This is what it looks like today, October 6th.

For more discovery and thanks, please visit the Shoot Out Mr. Linky site.

ABC Wednesday - "L"
It's time for ABC Wednesday and today we're hearing from the letter "L". In this case "L" is for leaves. Fall colour is just starting to get really interesting around here and, as it was a GORGEOUS day, I went for a walk on the trail right after work. And I found these...........

For more fun from the letter "L", please visit ABC Wednesday.
I'd also like to send a shout-out to bccmee and her followers at Richard Armitage Vids and Graphics. If you're a Richard Armitage fan and/or a fan of his portrayals of John Thornton, John Porter, Harry Kennedy, Guy of Gisborne etc., stop by and pay her site a visit - it rocks!
