This nesting season has been a real merry-go-round with the Mourning Doves. They have roosted on our window sill twice this year, each time laying a single egg that they abandoned after about a week. Each time they've then gone to our neighbour's window sill and raised a pair of chicks. The latest pair fledged in the past couple of days and this morning I walked downstairs to discover this sight on our window sill again....
Are we being teased again? Hmmmmm....
They are strange little critters aren't they? Decoy egg perhaps?
ReplyDeleteWOW! What is up with your mourning doves?!...They must be some kin to my robins! LOL
ReplyDeleteYes ladies, they are acting strange this year. I did a couple of errands this morning and came home to find the nest is empty again. Will have to put a ladder up to see if there's an abandoned egg again. sheesh!
ReplyDeleteThis is so much fun- I love these precious stories-- I am betting you are going to have a new addition- again!
