Friday My Town Shoot Out - Mother's Day

I was young, too young, just 17 when my mother died. This photo was taken on a day when she was young, just 27, and the world was full of promise. I was the center of her universe. When I was a little over 2 years old my brother arrived and she and my Dad expanded their universe and love enough for 2 children. My mother's name was Pearl.
I will think of her on Mother's Day, as I do everyday.

The Shoot Out themes this week were Cinco de Mayo and Mother's Day. For more on these topics please visit our Mr. Linky site. And to all you Moms out there, I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day.

  2. I forgot to ask, what is the flower in your header, the leaves wrap around the stem, the flower emerges before the leaves unfurl?

  3. Yes...I was 6 when my mother died. Although I think we are always too young when our mother's die, even if we are in our 80's.

  6. How you must treasure those memories of your mother, particularly as she died when you were so young. I find that terribly sad. My mother is still alive and I can't comprehend what life would be like without her. I hope you enjoy the time with your mum in your thoughts on Mothers Day.
