Woodstock is no where near water in need of navigational aids, yet we have a lighthouse. Why, you might ask, is there a lighthouse a stone's throw from a creek running through a golf course? Because it is the Woodstock Peace Lighthouse is a place of pilgrimage and the lighthouse symbolizes Christ, the light of the world. It is home for a collection of religious icons.
Please take the time to visit the gang's Mr. Linky site to see more weird fun.
Elaine you certainly have a great eye for photography. These photos are outstanding. Great post.

ahahah what was the cow doing with those flag poles? fun!
ReplyDeleteI know, the flags make the concrete cow look very formal, don't they?!
ReplyDeleteWell, you just never know when you might need a lighthouse, right? :)
ReplyDeleteI do think it is very nice that they honored that cow with a statue.
very formal...right! pretty weird. i can imagine a flag raising ceremony, officers hand salute right in front of the cow and the flags hehehe. But Kerry's right, it's nice of the local community that they honored the cow a statue...a thing that'd remind them how much it has helped them economically. "meaningful weird stuff" :)
ReplyDeleteI adore the cow...what fun!! I wonder if she has been beaten at her wonderful record! Good for her! I looove stuff like this!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Kerry!!
Hugs, Sarah
