Parting shots from Newfoundland - a walk around Quidi Vidi Lake

Quidi Vidi Lake in St. John's is the home of the annual Royal St. John's Regatta and crowds of thousands. When Caroline and I went for a walk there on September 7th it was quite peaceful.
No one messes with "Michael" the goose who appears to rule the west end shoreline.

  2. You smarty pants! Caroline introduced me to Michael, of course. Apparently he is very protective of ducklings on the beach.

  3. I've met the Goose of Quidi Vidi many times, we were there in the summer feeding bread to him and his ducky friends. My 15 month grandson loved it!

  4. A police goose with a name. What's his rank?

It does look so peaceful there.

  5. Patty, I think Michael must be a Drill Sargent at the very least. He commands a lot of respect.
