Friday My Town Shoot Out - My Town Dressed for Christmas

The first decoration I look for in Woodstock each year is the Christmas tree on the top of the Purina tower. The tree is fashioned from strings of lights and can be seen from many vantage points in the city.

Museum Square in the heart of downtown is home to the Festival of Lights, the various figures are sponsored by local businesses.

Museum Square is also home to this large Christmas tree -which sports a dazzling display of lights.

Our neighbour's reindeer and Christmas tree.

The fat man in the red suit and our cat in his gray suit.

  2. oh how Christmassy - we have alot of houses in our area this year who have really gone over board with the lights - so much so I feel it was probably what caused our mini powercut on our estate the other evening!!

  5. The tree of lights is so beautiful. You took great photos. We have a similar tree of 7 storeys, but my camera can't take night scenes. So seeing yours makes me happy.

  6. OH, I love the reindeer in the yard and the peep of the tree through the window! There's a subtlety there that plucks at the heart strings.

  8. Gordon, I wish I had Gray's life too - spoiled doesn't begin to describe him. He's sitting in the livingroom window at the moment, surveying the trees for chickadees and cardinals. Tough gig.

  10. The little glimpse inside the window at someone else's tree is warm and beautiful. The lights in the square are picture perfect in scale and beauty. Santa on the mantle can't even compete with that hammy cat! =D This is a wonderful holiday shoot out, Elaine. Thank you for sharing your talents and photos!

Happy Holidays, from Barry and Linda with love.

My favorite is the cat, they so rule the nest don't they...gotta compete with the Santa right, made me laugh, and I needed that laugh!

  12. I love that layered color Christmas tree! Not many people walking around there to admire the lights? maybe it's too cold?

  13. I had to look closely at the cat and Santa picture because it looked like so much like the work of an artist I like (but, of course, whose name I can't remember at the momment). But it is a wonderful photo!

  15. Purina- the cat food people? How nice.

Lovely photos, but Gray tops them all. Of course, cat photos are always tops.
