Gold Finch visit

I've seen Goldfinches at a distance before but never one near our feeders (that I can remember). This little fellow visited several times this afternoon.
This male House Sparrow (right) seemed quite intrigued by the sight of the bright yellow visitor.

  3. What a nice picture. i used to get American Goldfinches regularly at my feeder. I stopped using the feeders when I started getting squirrels which drove my dogs insane.

  4. And we both know that your dogs are insane enough without squirrel provocation.

  5. They are so different to our goldfinches, but very cute.

  6. Goldfinches always come to our garden in August to eat the Cosmos. It's why I grow them. I have watched those beautiful little birds devour two or three flower heads in one visit. Thanks for posting.
