Saturday Photo Hunt - Purple

It doesn't look purple but it is, sort of. It is Carpodacus Purpureus, more commonly known as the Purple Finch.

They were more plentiful at our feeders this winter than they've been in past years. Lovely enterainment.

  5. Watching birds is such fun. We don't have a feeder because we aren't at the cabin full time, but we love to watch the ones on the cliff and in the trees. It's always exciting when the spring arrivals start. I miss all of the songs in the winter. - Margy

  9. I think purple is hard to capture on a digital camera. Purple is made by mixing blue and red - and (at least my camera) either picks the blue or the red - not the rich deep purple that my eye sees.
