Robin Redbreast

Of course the real name is American Robin, but I think the nickname Robin Redbreast is very pretty and poetic. Generally though "Robin Redbreast" usually refers to the European or English Robin. I found this American Robin foraging for lunch on our neighbours front lawn today.

These delicate blue flowers were growing in abundance on the same lawn.
I did a little bit of googling and I discovered they are Chionodoxa forbesii, more commonly known as Glory of the Snow.

  1. I love to see the robins return, it is a sure sign of Spring. We had one fly down on my floating garden on the last sunny day we had. Hopefully I'll see him (her?) again this coming week. We are forecast to get quite a few sunny days in a row. - Margy
