Red Tailed Hawk

This is such a great time of the year for seeing Red Tailed Hawks close to the highways here in southwestern Ontario. This one was perched along side Highway 403, probably looking for lunch.... Needless to say, stopping to get a better shot is not an option on a major highway so this is a "drive-by". Before anyone reels back in horror, it was Geoff behind the wheel and me safely behind the camera.

  4. It's always a lot of fun seeing the hawks right next to the freeways. At times I am in the right spot at the right time and will even see them catch something while driving 60 or 70 miles an hour. Amazing.

  5. An update on hawk sightings: my husband saw 4 yesterday - one tree after another - very unusual.
