ABC Wednesday - "H" is for Hydrangea and Hosta

These two plants bloom in our Secret Garden. The pink flower on the left is a Hydrangea, the very large green leafy plant on the right is a Hosta.

Maybe when we get to S, I'll do an entry on the Secret Garden.
This ABC Wednesday was brought to you by the letter "H". Thanks Denise for all you hard work!

  1. This was nice seeing something green and pretty since all I really get to look at is snow and ice. Great choice. Also love your "Gray a day" pictures.

  2. My hostas are never that green: they're always being eaten by slugs, snails and other crawlies!

  7. Our hydrangea are mostly blue, I think the color changes due to the acidity of the soil.

  10. Lovely photo. I see you took it on a wet day - lots of fine raindrops on all the leaves.

  11. Yes Dragonstar, I did take this on a rainy day. I was also shooting through my diningroom window screen so that also softened the focus.

  12. The rainy look is lovely in this photo. Hydrangea is a very forgiving flower in my part of the world, beautiful in gardens, but I hate the dried flowers that some folk put in dry flower arrangements.

  13. I have a hosta in a pot. I keep it standing in water to prevent slugs and snails eating it, and of course, the hostas love very damp conditions so they don't mind a bit!

Spring seems late this year. No sign of a leaf yet.
